This refreshing rose martini reminds me of the first days of summer, sitting on my balcony and sipping my alcoholic beverage of choice. I can imagine the sound of the leaves dancing in the wind as the sun warms the back of my neck. The squirrels running away from my sunbathing cats lying beside me. The ants and the birds looking for leftovers of a kid’s melted ice cream cone on the sidewalk below.
Unfortunately, a quick look out my window to the winter wonderland in my city reminds me that the refreshing summer breeze is still a few months away. So what can I do to bring those memories forth while the world around me is hibernating? I can DRINK!
In this rose martini, the strength of the vodka, and the sweetness of the syrups make the mixture go down well as if on a hot day, and the rose water adds a floral element to the perfect summer cocktail to be enjoyed at home.

Ingredients
1.5 oz Ketel One vodka
1.5 oz lychee juice
1/2 oz rose water
1/4 oz grenadine
1/4 oz raspberry syrup
3 lychees
Instructions
- Measure and pour the liquids in a boston shaker. Add ice and shake until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty.
- Place the lychees in a martini glass.
- Double strain the contents of the shaker over the lychees. Enjoy!
Note: this drink is quite sweet, so a more tart variation could use an addition of lemon juice, or a replacement of the syrups with red cranberry juice for colour. Feel free to replace some of the lychee juice and vodka with Soho as well. Or just pour all the alcohol you own into your drink and nothing will matter after a few of these!
